Eligibility & Admission Process

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess a four-year Bachelor’s degree or a five-year integrated degree, with a first division, in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Production Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering

Categories of Admission
Admission to the program is open to various categories, including:

  • Indian nationals under Teaching Assistantship (TA)
  • Sponsored industry professionals and scientists from R&D centers (SW)
  • Defence Forces personnel (DF)
  • International candidates under ISF, ISW, and GSW categories.

Qualifying Examination

  • For TA candidates (Indian students): A valid GATE qualification in the respective branch, or in XE (with specializations in Fluid Mechanics, Material Science, Solid Mechanics, or Thermodynamics).
  • For international candidates: A valid TOEFL or IELTS score, along with a valid GRE score.

Duration
The program spans two years, with coursework in the first year and project work in the second year. The project work offers opportunities for industry-academia collaboration, providing a practical, hands-on experience.

Stipend
Only TA candidates are eligible for a stipend or financial support from the Institute, offering an additional incentive for qualified Indian nationals.
